Detailed description

Folnex Study Notes is a local-first note-taking app designed around how students actually organize their work — by subject.

You create folders for each subject, then write and edit notes inside them using markdown. Headers, bold text, lists, code blocks — all supported so your notes can be as structured or free-form as you need.

Everything runs offline. No account needed, no sync, no server. Your notes are stored only on your device, which means no sign-up friction and no privacy concerns.

The app ships with multiple themes — two light and two dark — so you can match your preferred study environment, whether you are working in a bright classroom or a dim library late at night.

On first launch, a short two-screen onboarding walks you through the basic idea. After that, you are dropped straight into your subject grid where you can start building out your notes immediately.

Empty subject folders show a clear placeholder card with a plus icon, so you always know what to do next without any guesswork.

The interface is clean and intentional — no distractions, no upsells, no notifications. Just a straightforward place to keep your academic notes organized.
